Sheet Metal Fabrication and Installation
Doody has a new 25,000 square feet sheet metal fabrication and installation shop that is state-of-the-art. It allows us to meet aggressive schedules because we control the production and are not dependent on another company's workload. Our large buying power and shop stock lets us pass on the best fabricated duct pricing available in the Twin Cities. We purchase nearly two-million pounds of coil steel each year allowing us to ride through the recent price fluctuations in the steel market.
Doody strictly adheres to SMACNA's IAQ Guidelines for Occupied Buildings, Chapter 3. This method of cleaning is a requirement to meet LEED NC's IEQ 3.1 Construction IAQ Management Plan. Although this is a requirement for all LEED projects, we feel that this practice of duct quality control is paramount in all medical related projects.
We follow these steps to ensure all ductwork is clean, dry and ready to install in the most sterile environments:
- After sheet metal fabrication in our-environmentally controlled shop, each piece of ductwork is immediately assembled and sealed.
- All ends are sealed with end caps for zero contamination during transportation.
- Ductwork is palletized and shrink wrapped for the job site and loaded into a covered delivery truck.
- Once ductwork arrives on-site, it's ends remained capped until installation occurs.
- Upon installation, any opened end systems will be sealed to ensure contamination does not occur.
