Our History
Doody Mechanical, is a privately held, full-service mechanical contractor that specializes in design-build projects and handles the most demanding projects and schedules.
Doody's origins date back to 1959 where Bob Doody had his plumbing shop on Selby Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota. As the business grew and flourished, Doody relocated to Front Avenue. While at this location, Jim Doody, Bob's son, took over the business in 1985. With his team's assistance, grew his business by adding additional piping, sheet metal and service capabilities.
In 2001, Doody joined part of APi Group, Inc., expanding our access to complementary services and expertise across the spectrum of construction-related business. In 2009, Doody relocated the business for a second time to our new location on L'Orient Street, just north of downtown St. Paul. The new location features a 25,000 square foot sheet metal fabrication shop allowing us to better meet aggressive schedules and customer demands.
